HPCI News: Leapfrog Sets Record Hospital Participation and Expands to Ambulatory Surgery Centers/Hospital Outpatient Departments

The Leapfrog Group announced two important break-throughs:
First, there was an all-time record participation in the 2018 Leapfrog Hospital Survey with 2,021 hospitals taking part. This represents over two-thirds (2/3) of U.S. inpatient hospital beds. Every hospital that answered their community’s call for transparency and completed the survey were thanked.
Second, 2019 marks the first annual Leapfrog Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Quality and Safety Survey. There are about 5,000 such centers across the U.S. Hospitals will also be invited to participate in a new Outpatient Surgery Section of the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey opening April 1st. As a Leapfrog Group Regional Leader, HPCI will add its name to the Ambulatory Surgery Center invitation letters.
