HPCI News: Hospital Safety Scores

Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames received an “A” again this spring making it the only Iowa hospital to get “Straight A” since Leapfrog started publishing Hospital Safety Scores in the spring of 2013. Finley Hospital in Dubuque received an “A” for the sixth time in a row.

Nationwide, of the 2,571 hospitals issued a Hospital Safety Score, 798 earned an “A’, 639 earned a “B”, 957 earned a “C”, 162 earned a “D” and 15 earned an “F”. Additionally, 153 hospitals earned the “Straight A” since 2013, which calls attention to hospitals who have consistently rated high on patient safety.
